How it works.
You, the donor, make a donation to the PEF™. The PEF fund managers then hand-select 501c3s in your chosen sector(s) to receive the PEF system resources, fueled over time by your donation. The application of the PEF system has the ultimate goal of generating and maximizing operational sustainability and a Return on Contribution (ROC).
The PEF system delivers the 501c3s the resources they need to sustainably grow their organizations and fundraising, resulting in more money and stability for the 501c3s.
your experience.
You get in touch with a PEF donation specialist to share which sector(s) you want your donation to impact.
You make a tax-deductible donation to PEF, either by check, credit card, or securities transfer (stocks, etc).
Your donation then fuels PEF resources to deliver capacity building services to PEF 501c3s in your desired allocation.
The PEF’s capacity building resources create more sustainable 501c3 organizations and unlocks on average 18x more fundraising dollars received to benefiting 501c3s after 3 years of service. Every six months, your donation specialist discusses the progress of this impact with you and provides financial and storytelling reports outlining progress.
Compare Impact.
This table illustrates the historical 1 and 3 year returns of two popular ESG/sustainability funds (equity investments) vs the ROC achieved by the Philanthropic Expansion Fund. PEF is not an equity investment; however, the three funds are comparable in terms of their ability to generate ESG/social impact dollars.
In the outlined scenario, a $10,000 investment in either equity investment achieves less than a 10% return; however, a risk-free donation of $10,000 to PEF results in a $10,000 tax deduction and historically generates $180,000 of real, quantifiable impact over the same time period.
*Investment figures are as of 07/31/2021; PEF figures are generated from historical data and a viewpoint of working with each PEF 501c3 for 3 years. PEF results may vary, and past performance does not guarantee future PEF results.
